Response to Handbook
Well at first i was not looking forward to reading this but then i got into it and i saw how incredibly helpful it is. There is so much information you can find an answer to almost any question about majoring in elementary education. I loved how it went into detail about field experiences, not gonna lie im nervous about having to do those. But reading over the details really let me know what ill be doing which reassured me. Also i was reading over all the things teachers need to be and should be and i was thinking about how im really worried about having students with special needs. I have never had to work with people or kids with disabilities so i guess im just not 100% comfortable in that area. But im excited to learn about how to handle different situations and kids. And i found it helpful how they have a academic progress sheet and a suggested course sequence right in it. Over all im glad i looked through the handbook, i ended up reading a lot more than i thought i would and its great to know i have all that information just in that one spot if i ever need to look something up.

Don't worry! Working with kids is so much fun, and if you enjoy being with them as much as I do, you'll think nothing of it!
ReplyDeleteKids with special needs are also a joy- people that work with them definitely need patience and understanding, but once they've accomplished something, it is so much more rewarding!!
I agree. Well said Kirstit!
